California Dealers Association awards over $ 100,000 in scholarships


The California New Car Dealers Association Scholarship Foundation offers over $ 100,000 to students seeking careers in automotive technology through its annual CAR CAREERS scholarship program; whose winners he announced this week.

The Dealers Association scholarship program selected the winners after assessing the applicants’ academic performance, career interests and industry experience.

The foundation’s board of directors selected the top four nominees from each of California’s five regions. These 20 major recipients received $ 5,000 each for education and training expenses.

The board of directors chose the big winner – Vincent Lagasca – as the big winner. He received an additional $ 5,000 as part of the Peter K. Welch Honorary Fellowship.

“We have been very impressed with the students who applied for this scholarship program and are proud to be able to support them in the pursuit of promising careers in the automotive technology industry,” said Brian Maas, President of CNCDA and vice-president of the CNCDA scholarship foundation.

CNCDA Scholarship Foundation President Cheryl Bedford added, “We want to help encourage more and more students to see the auto industry as an attractive career option. We believe this scholarship program will not only help support successful students, but will also serve as a tool to increase interest and awareness in the industry.
