Dealer Association donates $35,000 to local teachers and students | Latest titles

The Greater Charlotte Automobile Dealers Association (GCADA) celebrates 25th year of supporting education by recognizing regional educators and announcing the annual Bill Beck Scholarship winners for 2019.

The five winners of the Bill Beck Scholarship for 2019 are:

• Ashley Bartolac (Mooresville, North Carolina)

• Ethan Briggs (Concord, North Carolina)

• Clayton Pearson (Gastonia, North Carolina)

• Anna Crenshaw (Gastonia, North Carolina)

• Taylor Shaw (Harrisburg, North Carolina)

Each recipient receives a $5,000 scholarship (GCADA provides $1,000 per year and is renewable for up to five years of their studies). To date, GCADA has donated over $500,000 in scholarships to our region.

In addition to scholarship announcements, GCADA is presenting the 17 District Teachers of the Year in May with $600 American Express gift cards. Since 1997, GCADA has donated over $200,000 to area teachers.

Founded in 1968, GCADA is a business organization designed to support franchised new car and truck dealerships in the Charlotte area. In 1992, GCADA began producing the Charlotte Auto Show allowing consumers to enjoy all of the manufacturers latest vehicles in one space. Profits from the Charlotte Auto Show go back to the community through scholarship programs, dozens of non-profit organizations and educator recognition. About the Bill Beck Fellowship Program

GCADA established the Bill Beck Scholarship Program in 1994 to commemorate the area’s beloved marketer, William (Bill) C. Beck Sr. after losing his battle with cancer. Five scholarships are awarded annually to the children of GCADA member employees. Beneficiaries are selected by a committee. Since the program’s inception, GCADA has funded over $500,000 in scholarships.
